Dr. Hassan M. Abdulhaqq

Get ready to be inspired by Dr. Hassan M. Abdulhaqq, an expert in diversity, equity, and inclusion (DEI) who will give the opening keynote at The Arc’s National Convention this Fall.

Dr. Abdulhaqq is no stranger to The Arc family, most recently serving as a Vice President at AHRC Nassau before moving on to another developmental disability organization. But his impact goes far beyond helping people with disabilities thrive–he’s also as an adjunct professor, doctoral mentor, and sought-after consultant on transforming workplace cultures. When he’s not building strong teams, you can find him teaching at prestigious universities like NYU and Columbia and traveling the globe to speak to corporations, nonprofits, and universities about creating inclusive spaces. Whether managing HR teams of over 50 people at Fortune 100 companies or leading startups, Dr. Hassan has done the hands-on work of improving diversity and engagement. His expertise has earned him many awards, including being named HR Executive of the Year twice and receiving the Rising Star award from The Arc’s National Conference of Executives (NCE).

Dr. Hassan is a powerful, motivating speaker who will share how emotional intelligence can make your advocacy work even better – whether you’re a chapter professional, self-advocate, or family member.
