Countdown to the Event
Learn From The Best in the Disability Community!
We look forward to you joining us for a dynamic online program. Please check back regularly for updates and program schedule.
The Arc’s National Convention is an unmatched opportunity to connect and learn with advocates, professionals, people with intellectual and developmental disabilities, and their families. If you are interested in employment, education, advocacy, housing, criminal justice, and more – our sessions are sure to challenge, inspire, and motivate!
Virtual Exhibit Hall
The National Convention experience would not be complete without learning about technology and services available to support the disability community. The Arc established our special Virtual Exhibit Hall (VEH) to help you browse “digital booths” just like you do when attending an event in person. We hope you will tour the VEH to learn more about their products and services, connect with them at your convenience and engage with them to find out how this might benefit YOU!

Interacting With Police: What You Need To Know Part 1
Many seminars focus on training police, but we also feel that self-advocates need to be empowered with information as well.
During this year’s Symposium, we will introduce some ideas about maintaining
personal safety if we engage with law enforcement. We will also ask for your feedback as we plan for 2021.
Professional Development Seminar
The Professional Development Seminar is an opportunity for staff and executives from chapters and other organizations to meet in person, network, and attend sessions that are unified by a common theme that changes each year. The Seminar takes place as a session track within The Arc’s National Convention.
Behind each chapter of The Arc, there are passionate and dedicated leaders. The NCE Distinguished Professional Awards are held at National Convention and honor the professional excellence and achievement of those who make significant contributions to strengthen their local disability community and chapter. Join us to celebrate them!
The Arc’s 2020 Annual Business Meeting is scheduled to take place virtually in conjunction with this year’s National Convention, October 26-28, 2020. The Annual Business Meeting is scheduled for Tuesday October 27 and will consider the following:
- Proposed Bylaws amendment adding the Diversity Committee as a standing committee
- Election of Officers and Directors
- Adoption of proposed Position Statements
Introducing The Arc's New Strategic Framework
Now more than ever, The Arc must do our part to strategically build the disability rights movement into a more diverse and powerful force for change. Join us as we present our new Strategic Framework for the Future of The Arc and discuss how it was created, as well as how it will guide us into the future.
This year’s Convention will feature breakouts on topics that matter most to you. Whether you’re a family member, person with a disability, DSP, or organizational staff, you can expect to learn from experts and peers and gain the tools to make a difference in your community. The best part? Since this year’s event is virtual, you don’t have to choose between sessions if you’re interested in concurrent ones. Just catch the others on demand later!
