Carrie has 24 years of experience working with people with I/DD in Indiana, Arizona, and Tennessee through chapters of The Arc in these states. Her areas of concentration include public policy, advocacy, systems change, employment, secondary transition, positive behavior supports, and person-centered planning processes. Currently, she is Executive Director for The Arc Tennessee. Carrie’s educational background includes an M.S. in Special Education from IUPUI, a Graduate Certificate in Non-Profit Management from Indiana University, and a B.A. in Sociology. Carrie participates in a variety of boards, advisory councils, and committees. These include Chair of the DIDD Developmental Disabilities Policy and Planning Council, Vice Chair of the National Conference on Executives of The Arc; member of the Autism Summit Team, Community Advisory Council for Vanderbilt Kennedy Center, Post-Secondary Education Alliance, Employment First Task Force, Disability Coalition on Education, and others.
