Cameron Northup is a 30-year old young lady from Pensacola, Florida who was born with Down Syndrome. Growing up in Pensacola, Cameron attended her neighborhood public schools. She has been involved in her community in many different capacities, including acolyte and greeter in her church, Fiesta of Five Flags DeLuna Childrens’ Court, presented in the 2006 Debutante Charity Cotillion, volunteer at the Pensacola Humane Society and with The Arc Gateway, a member of the YMCA and one of the first individuals with a developmental disability to start a “micro-business” in Florida. Cameron is currently enrolled in The Arc Gateway’s Program for Adult Learning and Support (PALS) at Pensacola State College. PALS is a secondary education program for people with developmental disabilities. Most recently, Cameron graduated from the Facial Specialties Program at Pensacola State College and is most likely one of the first licensed estheticians in Florida with Down Syndrome. Cameron’s hobbies include: ballroom dancing, Zumba, karaoke, reading and experimenting with new makeup products.
