Annie Acosta joined The Arc in 2007 as the Director of Communications and Grassroots Advocacy with the public policy office. Prior to that, she worked for the National Organization on Fetal Alcohol Syndrome (NOFAS) and the Substance Abuse and Mental Health Services Administration (SAMHSA), working primarily in the areas of program management, evaluation, and distance education. In 2011, Annie joined The Arc’s staff as a policy advocate. Annie is a co-chair of the Consortium for Citizens with Disabilities Fiscal Policy Task Force and the Developmental Disabilities, Autism, and Family Support Task Force. She covers budget & appropriations, Developmental Disabilities Act programs, education, autism, technology, prevention, and family support issues in Congress.
